A work of middle-grade historical fiction (having taken place in 1973), and it’s a coming of age story that might be set in the disco loving 70’s but hits home & it’s super relatable today! Clothes and music may change throughout time, but #mglit family worries, and friendship challenges remain! THINGS THAT SHIMMER is a fantastic read that I inhaled in a single sitting. Deborah Lakritz wrote a compelling, socially relevant & lovable #kidlit read! A 10/10 for this #BookFlapFriday pick!
