## Caption

Escalante Community Center received a Buddy Bench built by two Girl Scouts, Aria Cassidy and Olivia Wagner. The friends from Troop 203 wanted to make a difference in their community and crafted the bench to provide a place where a child can go when they want someone to talk to. They earned the Silver Award, which is one of the highest honors in Girl Scouting, for the creation. 

Several Tempe-based stores including Paul’s Ace Hardware, Home Depot and Lowe’s, as well as Tempe’s Urban Forester, Richard Adkins, donated materials to the girls to build the bench. On this #FeelGoodFriday, Tempe Vice Mayor Doreen Garlid and several participants in the Escalante Preschool program enjoyed the installation of the Buddy Bench.
