Following my last post of the summary of the season I figured I share some insights of the analysis of my strokes gained statistics from 2020 👨🏻‍🏫
----
Since the start of 2019 I use fore_golf_game_tracking as my go-to stats app.
Numbers here are always compared with a PGA Tour field. Since there is no comparison against the field on the Challenge Tour it's a good way to see my current status in every part of the game. Nevertheless, we do play different layouts than the PGA Tour does. Meaning that gains or losses shown on the app should be seen with caution and always compared to the course that we're playing.
----
Overview:
The first picture shows in which areas I gain and in which areas I lose shots on average over the season.
Even though Tee Shots show a slightly negative number I'm not worried about it since the consistency and numbers have improved a lot over the last two or three months.
What I'm also happy with this year is most parts of my long game (shots to the green).
----
Short Game:
Even though I felt like I did not perform at my best around the greens this year numbers show otherwise. Still I feel like I can be sharper and more variable leading up to next season.
----
Putting:
One of the most crucial parts and main goals for next season is to improve my putting stats.
Looking at the statistics and matching my feeling is that I have a lot of potential for "typical" birdie putts between 2,5 to 6 meters.
Together with my coaches it's now time to analyze what potential causes might be and how I can work on improving this specific part of my game.
----
I feel that reflecting and looking at some "hard facts" is quite motivating leading into the season prep for the next year and makes formulating a plan much easier 😎
----
Do you do stats over the year?
