Tough and very frustrating week on the course at the #EnglishChampionship… 😒
My game felt solid coming into Thursday but after the quick start on the first three holes everything that could have gone wrong went wrong.

Those who know me know that I’m an analytical type of person who reflects regularly - so was I doing after these two rounds.
Looking back I felt that I put a lot of pressure on myself having the chance to get the one or the other start in the UK swing. I’m aware of that tendency and I’ve been working on it for a longer time already and made progress - nevertheless old tendencies tend to reappear sometimes. Especially since I want to make the next step so badly it’s a big challenge for me not to put pressure on myself. 
However, experience showed me that I’m playing my best golf being relaxed and and not putting pressure on myself. I’ve improved a lot here but some weeks work better than others.
Moreover, I’ll be working on getting better with the way I handle short-notice tournament opportunities. Due to my category on the europeantour I usually don’t know whether I can play up until the Sunday/Monday of the tournament week itself. I usually like to have more of a periodization before driving to a tournament to prepare myself game wise and mentally. It was another factor that was a challenge for me this week since I just had to basically „grab my stuff and drive“ to get to the UK.

It’s all part of the process. There are other things that went fairly well this week. Hope this gives you more of an insight look on things the scorecard doesn’t tell you.
