Happy Masters Sunday Everyone! So my last tale from Augusta comes from 2011. My goal for the week that I had obsessed about was to do something that no one had ever done before - Win both the Par 3 Tournament and The Masters & break the curse. 
On Wednesday I accomplished the 1st part, but after 13 holes of my 1st round I was +3 for the tournament and things weren’t looking good! 
By Sunday I had got myself to -7 and only 5 shots back of the leader with still a glimmer of hope. Standing on the 12th tee, I was 2 under for my round & just 2 back before pushing a 9 iron into Rae’s creek only to make double 😭

Birdies on 13,15 & 16, got me 1 back of the lead, but a costly 3 putt on 17 meant I had to birdie the last to tie Tiger & Ogilvy in the clubhouse at -10 for any chance. 
I got really unlucky with my drive on 18, stopping where it did & to be honest didn’t think I could get enough club on the ball to get it all the way to the green, but the shot came off perfectly only to land on the fringe and ricochet off the flag and off the front of the green. My only hope to at best get in a playoff was to chip it in & as you can see I got quite excited when it dropped!

In the end charlschwartzel reeled off 4 straight birdies in impressive fashion to win but it was a fun Masters Sunday where a number of guys had a chance coming down the stretch! 
Still to this day no one has broken the curse, but I’m glad I gave it my best effort.
