𝐀 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐨𝐲𝐨𝐥𝐚 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝. Congrats to our longtime head coach and Loyola.Football alum Steve Grady ’63, who will be inducted into the 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐇𝐒 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐞!

Grady is the only man in California prep football history to be named State Player of the Year (1962) and State Coach of the Year (2003). 

As a player at Loyola, he was a three-year starter and All-American tailback that led the Cubs to the 1962 CIF title. Grady then went on to play at USC, where he won a national championship and was later drafted by the NFL’s Denver Broncos.

As head coach of the Cubs for nearly 30 years (1976-2004), Grady amassed an overall record of 269-77-6 (77.3%) and guided Loyola to two CIF Division I titles (1990, 2003) and four additional CIF Division I Finals appearances. He was also inducted to the CIF Southern Section Hall of Fame in 2016.

Add another accomplishment to the list for one of the greatest to ever do it. Congrats, Coach Grady! 🐐
