When we’re young, we’re told, “Someday, your mom will be your best friend!” 

Fortunately, I never went through that teenage phase of hating my mom… we’ve always been super close…but I’d say we took it to best friend level during my college years and it’s grown ever since. 

My beautiful mother is indescribable in so many ways. From her huge, caring heart to her fiery, passionate Irish-Italian spirit, Mona Steele is MY PERSON.  She has supported and pushed me in endless ways, and as I told her at her birthday dinner last night, she’s the one who has encouraged me to always TRY.  To never be afraid to fail…just TRY…because you’ll never regret trying, but you might if you don’t.  In some ways, I’ve taken her advice to new levels….levels that have certainly stressed her out and made her think twice about the advice she gave me! 🤣🤷🏽‍♀️ But I know that there’s no way I would be here today — personally or professionally — without all of her advice, encouragement, and unconditional love. I can only pray that my relationship with my kids as they get older is like the relationship I have with my momma.
