Do I miss playing?

“When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.” -Alexander Graham Bell

People often ask me if I miss playing basketball and my answer is HELL YES, I do. I miss playing, i miss the competition, i miss the brotherhood, camaraderie, even those late night flights after games we used to hate, i miss that now…
However ive been able to find something greater than I had when I was playing…. My voice. The platform i have now has so much more purpose to it
Being a basketball player served its purpose. It gave me a platform… and now that platform has allowed use my voice to spread awareness on topics I’m passionate about - education, financial literacy, mental health, the art of starting over-
Im also able to lend resources to communities that need it. I travel around the world, get to meet people from so many backgrounds different than mine and lend my help in any way I can.
So, yes, i miss the game 🏀, but I know there’s so much more for me to do in this life
