We love the optics of five of our Steel City Academy players contributing to a high school team ranked #1 in Illinois and #15 in the nation.

We know we're not the reason Lincoln-Way East or these players are thriving, but that doesn't stop us from enjoying every minute of their journey.

L-Way East Led by Academy
Kamden Williams leads the Griffins with eight goals, Brian McCracken is the team's co-captain and Liam Treacy anchors a defense with four shutouts in seven matches.

In addition, the Griffins are coached by Steel City midfielder and OG captain m.ribbens , who has won more games in each successive season in his years at the helm.

What is Steel City Academy?
Steel City Academy is designed for high school-age players who want to test themselves in an Under-23 league. 

Academy is designed to not compete with other area clubs; its programming is limited to June and July when most traditional clubs have a gap in programming.

Academy turned heads in its inaugural season in '24. It failed -only on goal difference - to win its division against much more experienced teams.
