2023-24 HOCKEY HOUSE PHOTO OF THE YEAR: FANS CATEGORY ⭐️

This photo from Jimmy Gerakios earned its win through a combination of a capture of the joy of the Georgia Bulldogs winning the Savannah Classic and the unbelievably inspirational story of Alaina Rushing, a nine-year old with Osteosarcoma, a rare form of cancer that caused her leg to be amputated.

During Georgia’s annual visit to the Memorial Health Children’s Hospital, they met Alaina. She’s an avid Ice Dawgs fan and became an extended member of the team, reading the starting lineups, serving as inspiration for celebrations, and motivating UGA en route to their 10th Savannah Classic win.

On March 29, 2024, Alaina rang the bell and beat her cancer! You can support her journey as she learns to walk through the GoFundMe link in our bio.
