President Fr. David Ciancimino, S.J., drew on the season-opening speech of football coach Kraig Kurzanski ’84 during his homily for our Mass of the Holy Spirit.
 
The Mass is one in which our campus community gathers together to thank God and to seek the guidance and wisdom of the Holy Spirit for the new school year, a Jesuit school tradition for hundreds of years.
 
Students participated in the Mass through readings and responses, choral and instrumental music and as candlebearers and crossbearer. 

The background music in this video is from the terrific violin performance during Mass by Sam Gugliuzza ’25. 
 
Concelebrants of the Mass were Director of Campus Ministry Fr. Chuck Frederico, S.J.; Assistant to the President Fr. Richard Zanoni, S.J.; Assistant to the Principal Fr. Edward Durkin, S.J.; and CHS Trustee Fr. Jason Downer, S.J., who is the Superior of the Canisius, LeMoyne and McQuaid Jesuit Communities.
