Here are some not-so-typical Do's and Don'ts for living a powerful life as a DHH individual!

DO:

✔️Celebrate what makes you uniquely you.

✔️Share your communication victories with your community including your DHH coach and audiologist!

✔️Teach others how they can best communicate with you.

✔️Show your ears/devices off. -Wear earrings, style your hair back or even customize your device to reflect the strong and empowered individual you are!

✔️Continue to live your best life!

✔️Revel in the awe and wonder of technology like devices, apps, closed captioning, and more!

DON'T:
❌Let others' curiosity convince you that something is wrong. The choice is yours.

❌Let others be too jealous that you can switch the world off and on (if you have devices).

❌Forget to practice the listening skills you have.

❌Let a label or diagnosis define you.

❌Let it hinder you from trying new things or being brave.

❌Feel bad asking for clarification, repetition - let others know that what they have to say is important to you!
