At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Quinn (thequinny5) made headlines as not only the first openly transgender and non-binary athlete to compete, but also the first to win an Olympic medal of any kind.
 
Quinn is a vocal advocate for the LGBTQ2+ community, especially when it comes to sports. They have been involved with Athlete Ally since they were a collegiate athlete at Duke University, and has worked with Duke alumni and LGBTQ2+ activists to fight anti-transgender legislation that limits or prohibits the participation of transgender athletes in sports.
