MY NATIONAL COSTUME 

Theme: THE COLORFUL LOVE OF A UNIVERSAL INDIA.

India is a culture which shares a colorful and vibrant love to the world, from our hospitality, to our nature adhering culture. Rooted in culture and tradition, India is diverse yet united in vibrance, kyun ke humare dil mein har dum HOLI HAI!!! The costume features traditional Indian textile work on a base of hot pink to symbolize our desi love, which is the unifying quality of the entire nation as we progress to give love to the whole world through education, innovation and dedication. The flora and fauna is an ode to our history of respecting our various preservation of our varied biodiversity. The simple pots honor rural artisans, the panelled lehenga with showers of flowers represent our culture of making our weddings big and fat, the crown holds our meditative progressions with our minds being one with the universe (did you notice the planets floating over my crown?) and the choli is beaded in the colors of the Indian flag with gold. 

India is a nation of the international language of love, that has, and that will  always conquer the hearts of the world, with the colors of culture. So it is my honor to smoke up the stage with colors of the universal power of Indian love. Jai Hind!
