Ever though about Seminary? Read about Megan Eide and her experience with seminary! Megan Eide is a 2019 graduate from Gustavus, where she majored in Religion and Communication Studies. Highlights from her time at GAC include working as a research assistant in the Religion Department, playing bass clarinet in the Gustavus Wind Orchestra, and serving as a pastoral intern for a semester in Denmark. Today, Megan serves as a pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa where she lives with her dog, Nisse.⁠

How did Gustavus prepare you for seminary school? Participating and leading in Chapel programs, the Religion Department, Christian Campus Ministries, and interfaith initiatives reinforced my love and need to seek God and spiritual connections in everything I do.⁠
What advice would you give Gusties thinking about Seminary School? Lean into your Gustie connections and resources! The Gustavus community is blessed with a variety of profs, Alumni, chaplains, and national connections who would be thrilled to support you in your discernment (including me!)⁠
What was your call, why did you decide to take this path? My call from the time I was very young is to help God help people. I've always wanted to do something with my life where I'd love and serve others, but I could never figure out how to do that without brining God into the picture.
