What does it mean to belong?

Weaving Belonging is a community-engaged project by aaniya.asrani in her first-ever public art program experience through the #CreateSpaceResidency. This project led to:

🟢 2 public art activations in Vancouver 
🟢 7 collaborators who shared their stories on belonging, identity, history, and experiences on unceded territories
🟢 60+ community participants who took part in workshops, an outdoor weaving activity, and exhibit viewing

Weaving Belonging is a call to reckon with the past, engage with the present, and envision a future where we’re all active participants in the ongoing process of reconciliation ❤️

This was part of the 2023 CreateSpace Public Art Residency supported by the canada.council, td_canada through TD Ready Commitment, and crrf_fcrr with funding provided by the Government of Canada.
