In my personal and professional experiences working as an audiologist, I've noticed that acquiring hearing loss later in life is often more challenging than growing up with it. As a child with hearing loss, I didn’t know what I was missing—I was just busy being a kid, surrounded by family and friends who loved and supported me.  I've included this in my essential guidebook, "My Child Has Hearing Loss, Now What?" because I feel it's an important reminder to parents.
