TEACHERS FEATURED: Friday’s pep rally put the spotlight on Mac teachers. Select faculty members perform alongside the cheer team and dance in front of the whole school.

The teachers and cheerleaders weren’t the only ones hyping up the crowd, McCallum Blue Brigade debuted a hip hop number and the Mac Band brought its trademark brand of big sound and high energy.

In addition to dancing at the pep rally, teachers also got to compete against students in a game called, “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Pom.”

Junior Melaina Crockett was chosen to play in the game. She did not expect to be chosen to participate in the game, but once she was pulled in, she was ready to win.

“I wasn’t prepared to play,” Crockett said. “It definitely took me by surprise. It was definitely out of my comfort zone, but I had fun playing with my peers and being part of the pep rally!”

The seniors outlasted the teachers and the underclassmen in the pom game with George McCoy edging fellow senior Savannah Doerr in the battle for the final pom.

The juniors earned some degree of revenge by earning the spirit stick as judged by nobody important.
