I want to talk about my Instagram Verified Experience:
Back in April 2023, I purchased Instagram's verification badge, viewing it as a symbol of success and credibility, though I was hesitant about paying my way to obtain it, I thought it was worth it. I ended up spending $150 across 10 months.

The badge can indeed make your page stand out if you regularly post. If slightly differentiating yourself from other creators is vital in achieving your goals, this badge might suit you. Initially, I believed $15 per month was negligible if it could help secure freelance work. Considering some jobs pay over $1000, having an extra pair of eyes potentially leading to a client seemed worthwhile.

I've realized the badge doesn't necessarily translate to acquiring more clients. The only notable observation I had was during in-person networking. When conversing face-to-face and gaining followers in person, I noticed a subtle change in perception, signaling that I was "serious" about my work.

In some ways, having verification made Instagram feel more like a job, rather than a place to share my work. In the end, I post because I like sharing my progress. The choice I made was a monetary one, not one of need.

I never got hacked, and I never needed to contact Instagram, so that aspect of "verification" was negligible.
