#TSRPolitics: The political leaders have had enough of the false claims about Haitians. Today,  Rep #StevenHorsford, the Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, tries to introduce a motion on the House floor to censure Rep. Clay Higgins over a now-deleted racist tweet about Haitians. ___________________________________
In the tweet, Rep. Higgins wrote, “Lol. These Haitians are wild. Eating pets, vudu, nastiest country in the western hemisphere, cults, slapstick gangsters..” Rep. Horsford took to the House floor and moved to force a vote on the matter within two legislative days.

He argued that Higgins used official equipment of the House of Representatives to incite fear and hate, disobeying the House’s code of conduct. “I move to censor Rep. Clay Higgins for ... bringing discredit and disgrace to the House,” he said. However, it was objected to by House Majority Leader Steve Scalise because Higgins had already deleted the tweet. Rep. Higgins received backlash online and from Democratic Leader #HakeemJeffries, but Speaker Mike Johnson supported Higgins and told reporters that Higgins said he regretted the post.
