## Caption

Not many people know this, but before starting my sports photography journey, I was a ticket holder for Gotham FC.

I had been following this team long before I started covering them. I feel incredibly fortunate to have transitioned from the stands to the field, capturing moments of history that I never would have imagined in my wildest dreams.

Not only have I had the opportunity to cover the team, but I’ve also been a part of its history—witnessing their progress and growth, from being at the bottom of the table to winning a championship. It has been one of the best memories of my life, and I will always hold it close to my heart.

But little did I know that life had another incredible moment in store for me. When I left Brazil and came to the U.S., I never imagined I would visit the White House for anything other than a tour. Yet there I was, attending as a photographer, capturing the first NWSL Championship team to ever visit the White House. To be a part of that moment in women’s sports history with a team that holds such a special place in my heart—I have no words for it.

This is just the beginning for women’s sports, which has been battling and paving the way for future young athletes. I’m so grateful I can say, ‘I was there.’
