## Caption

Street Spirit, an East Bay newspaper founded in 1995, continues to share stories of unhoused individuals amid recent city efforts to clear houseless encampments. 

According to Street Spirit director Alastair Boone, the publication also serves to provide an income-earning opportunity for unhoused people to publish their stories and sell the newspaper. 

In addition to its vendor program, Street Spirit also has a drop-in center that contains medical supplies, food and clothing. Boone noted that the drop-in center offers resources for unhoused individuals, and is “a little place in the community that’s safe for them and where they can rest between one place and another.”
