Everyone does bonding differently, as long as you follow simple steps and keep the area clean and dry, following the manufacturers instructions it will work. 

Some bonding systems work better in some hands than others so it is an individual preference. Literature helps find the best option for certain conditions. 

At the end of the day if you have a specific issue to solve then a change in bonding protocol can help but make sure to follow the manufacturers instructions as otherwise you will make your bonding worse and less predictable.
