This standing ovation is for our community, changing our culture, and for each other. It’s for anyone who’s ever felt so much, knows what it means to struggle (that’s realistically all of us), knows what it means to dig deep and persevere. It’s for everyone who’s felt for a friend or loved one. It’s for everyone who’s ever felt so alone.

This standing ovation is for YOU.

This was a couple nights ago at the first show of the Quality Ski Time Film Tour in Bend, Oregon. I’ve shared the film in a multitude of environments so far, but this was the first time I screened the film in the distinctly stoke-centric ski movie premiere environment.

A lot of what I’m trying to work on in life right now is two-fold: loving myself and receiving love from others. When I’ve received standing ovations—for Ups & Downs, speeches, or now, Feel It All—I find myself turning away to the side and trying to look at no one. So in Bend, I consciously noticed myself doing so again and I tried to square up, face the crowd, look people in the eyes, and try to accept and receive the energy and love.

So that’s part of why I say it ain’t *just* for me. Because I’m trying to accept some of it is for me. And for that, I am very grateful and very humbled. Truth is, this shit ain’t easy and despite all my practice reps of public vulnerability, I was still nervous to bring this into the stoke-centric ski movie premiere environment.

In a lot of ways, it feels strange to even share this video. At first impulse, it feels self-aggrandizing or narcissistic. I really don’t like performative vulnerability. I like real, genuine, honest vulnerability.

But I’m sharing all of this because it really isn’t about me. I told the people in the theater the other night the same thing. Me, my story, and the film are just the vehicle for the message, impact, and mission. Know that this well of energy, love, and support from hundreds of people in that theater is for YOU—to lean on, receive, embrace, channel, and pass along.

And within that cycle, here is some energy and love, from me to you. 💜🤙
