Cleveland’s Irishtown Bend Park project took a significant step forward with a $10.8 million grant from the National Park Service's Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Program. This brings the project closer to its $45 million fundraising goal, with about $20 million already secured for basic landscaping and trails.
 
🌳 Set above the Cuyahoga River and below West 25th Street, the future 25-acre park will connect residents and visitors to over 125 miles of regional trails and green spaces, including direct access to the river and Lake Erie. The $65 million hillside stabilization project currently underway by the Port of Cleveland will be completed in 2025, laying the groundwork for this new public waterfront space.
 
💬 Cleveland Metroparks CEO Brian Zimmerman noted the lasting impact this project will have on the community, calling it a "shared vision" coming to life through strong partnerships and federal support.
