Congratulations to the student-athletes of the week! 📚

🏐 Back-to-back honors for Jess Mruzik! She hit .326 with an incredible 6.00 kills/set while adding 2.71 digs/set in No. 4 Penn State’s wins over No. 10 Purdue and Michigan State. The outside hitter led the attack in a dominant road sweep over the Boilermakers with 13 kills in addition to her nine digs. She then put the team on her back in a four-set win over the Spartans, hitting .356 with 29 kills. She finished off her first double-double with 10 digs. Her 29 kills were the most ever by a Penn State player in a four-set match during the 25-point rally scoring era (2008-present) and the most in any match since Jonni Parker had 29 in a five-set win over Minnesota in 2018.

🏈 Abdul Carter had two tackles for loss in the first half to reach the 20 career tackles for loss mark. Carter finished the game with a career-high four tackles for loss and now has 22.5 TFL for his career. He is the first Nittany Lion with four tackles for loss in a game since Yetur Gross-Matos against Iowa in 2018. The junior recorded two sacks, marking his third career game with multiple sacks and his first since notching 2.5 sacks vs. UMass in 2023. Carter also forced a fumble on a sack late in the fourth quarter, tallied seven tackles (4 solo) and added a pass breakup.
