What an incredible hunt. This is one of the biggest bulls I’ve ever seen, let alone harvest. We saw this giant the first day with a massive herd of 250 head and I thought it was going to be impossible to pull him off, let alone get in close enough for a shot. But instead of trying to stalk in with 500 eyeballs; we decided to use some midwest whitetail tactics. We spoke with the farmer and he agreed to help us move a couple big round bales so we could make a blind. Then we went to Walmart and bought some camo netting and Jerry rigged a blind for the evening hunt. I had my doubts, but it was our best chase for an opportunity on this magnum. So we built the blind and got in around 12:30pm and waited all day. Of course, the elk had their own plans and didn’t do the same thing as the day before. However, we could hear them, tho they were far away, there’s always a chance. So we didn’t move, we stayed put and  my buddy Terry is an amazing caller and he worked and worked and worked these elk, and finally right before dark, this giant couldn’t take it anymore and left the herd and snuck in behind us. To say he caught us off guard is an understatement!  As you can see in my last video, it was chaos to get into position to try and get a shot, but we managed to do it without getting caught. When Terry got him stopped he was at 78 yards, but quartering really hard, but I knew the beast_broadheads would go straight thru that shoulder, so I had no problem with taking the shot. When I drew back it took everything I had mentally to stay calm and not freak out with the biggest bull of my life starring at me as I’m trying to execute a perfect shot. Finally, the shot broke clean and I watched my arrow fly absolutely perfect, hitting him exactly where I was aiming. The beast_broadheads never slowed down going straight thru the front shoulder disappearing and coming out right in front of his offside hip. Hitting everything in between, he took off fast, but only made it 20 yards before he stopped. He took a few more steps and only 30 yards from impact he collapsed. I’m beyond impressed with how well the BEAST did on this old bull. Colorado treated me well! #beastbroadheads #ełk
