“It’s the people” Marc replied when I asked what’s the thing that makes him love what he does. “They [the regulars] have made me one of their sons.”

January 2024 will mark 29 years The Goodie Shoppe has been in business under Marc Jayson. The eclectic atmosphere of Americana and New Fairfield treasures are what make The Goodie Shoppe so cozy and familiar to many residents. 

Owner, Marc, arrives to the shop many hours before most are awake, working on all of the delicious homemade breads, pastries, and cakes for the day. I enjoyed my time learning about Marc and his business, conversations flowed naturally as if longtime friends, and he graciously shared advice as a new business owner. 

Next time you’re doing your weekly shopping, make the extra stop to The Goodie Shoppe, grab a loaf of bread and a tasty treat — you deserve it! (And if you’ve been extra good, get a milkshake too!)
