“Since elementary school I recognized technology’s potential to create a positive impact on individual lives at scale. I admired the ways in which engineering could bring automation to mundane and repetitive tasks, and revolutionize the ways we live. I soon found joy in helping those around me troubleshoot problems with technology and creating ways to make life more simple, exciting and inclusive. I’m eager to take advantage of the U of A’s extensive resources, such as the Elko Engineering Garage, to build a strong foundation for my future. I hope to make the world a better place through technology, innovation and engineering.”

Oliver is a first-year Engineering student from Dongying, China and one of six recipients of the prestigious Schulich Leader Scholarship - awarded to some of the top high school students in Canada. He wasted no time getting involved at the U of A by joining the Computer Engineering Club and the Cybersecurity, Hacking and Digital Security (CHADS) club. Congrats, Oliver! #ualberta
