The Con Edison Athlete of the Week is Pelham’s Maddie Horner.

In Monday Sept. 30's 92-77 win over Arlington, Horner won the 200-yard freestyle (2:03.99) and the 100 breaststroke (1:11.7). She also helped the 200 medley and 400 free relays win. ... In the Sept. 26 win over the combined Ardsley/Dobbs Ferry squad, she won the 200 individual medley, 100 butterfly, and helped the 200-medley and 400 free relays win as well. ... Two days earlier in the Pelicans 88-57 win over the combined Mahopac/Putnam Valley/Carmel squad, she won both the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly. ... The captain of the swim team has made the NYSPHSAA championships the last two years. ... At last year's Section 1 championships, Horner set a new school record in the 100 fly with a time of 57.75 seconds. ... Outside of Pelham, Horner swims for the Westchester Aquatic Club. ... She will be attending Johns Hopkins University in the fall.
