Penck was chosen as the eleventh #ArtCar artist, translating his autodidactic style to the 1991 BMW Z1. The influence of prehistoric cave paintings developed his notable stick figures, as seen on BMW Art Car #11. In discussing his approach to the BMW Z1, Penck commented, “I am interested in how art relates to art, how art relates to technology – and, above all, how art relates to a solid object.”
