Wednesday marked our first House Games Day of this academic year, as students competed in touch football, a soccer shootout, handball, four square, Wii golf and a classroom-vs.-classroom jumbo-sized version of Battleship that played out on whiteboards and balloon-decked ships placed on a grid on the floor. 
 
All students are members of one of six houses named after prominent Jesuits — Arrupe, Campion, Gonzaga, Jogues, Loyola and Xavier — and the competition, brotherhood and camaraderie of the pioneering CHS House System carry through their four years.

The House System builds an additional infrastructure of smaller communities within our larger school community. 

It helps forge stronger bonds and connections between students throughout all four grades as well as with the faculty. At CHS, the day starts in Mentor Group, which are organized by house and which include students of all four grades.
 
The CHS House System also offers leadership opportunities — seniors who become House Prefects help organize and run the House Games activities.
