We are heartbroken by the passing of Patrick Woepse. A longtime water polo player winning championships at Mater Dei and UCLA he inspired the entire water polo world in his battle against a rare lung cancer. There was no bigger victory this past summer in Paris than when Patrick defied the odds to be in the stands cheering on his wife, Olympic champion maddiemusselman Woepse, and the rest of the womenswp_usa. We thank Maddie and Patrick for sharing their journey so openly and for reminding us what it is to love and to be loved.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Maddie and the Woepse/Musselman family alongside all those who knew Patrick.
