For The First Time, An All-Female On-Field Team Officiates World Cup Match
 
When Costa Rica and Germany kicked off their group stage match on December 1, 2022, it also kicked off the first-ever World Cup match officiated on-field by an all-female referee team.
Referees Neuza Ines Back, Stephanie Frappart and Karen Diaz Medina called the match, with off-field assistance from referee Said Martinez, that saw Germany win 4-2 in the Group E match.  I #GettySport #WorldCup #WorldCupQatar #FIFA
