Today we honor and celebrate the 574 federally recognized tribes in the U.S. and our cherished relationship with the Ute Indian Tribe. Since 1972, the The University of Utah has used the name “Utes” and we take pride in carrying the name with understanding and respect toward our state’s namesake people. We are #UteProud. 🙌
