how do you possibly say goodbye to something that gave you everything?

i truly can’t begin to describe how much this sport means to me. 15 years ago, i fell in love the moment i touched the ball with my tiny little hands at six years old. i slid up my giant knee pads for the first time, and from then on my life had changed in ways i could have never imagined. ever since that day, i centered my life around the sport and poured my heart and soul into it. 

While there are so many things I could say to volleyball, nothing is as important as the people that have been in my life through it all.

first, thank you to my parents for allowing me to play the sport i love for so long and for sacrificing so much along the way to support me and my dreams.

thank you to my mom for coaching me the first 18 years of my life and making me the player i am today. it was far from easy but i would not be where i am now without her. 

thank you to my older sister for for being my best friend and pepper partner the past 21 years to play vball along side with. playing division 1 college volleyball with her is something i will never forget.

thank you to my litter sister for giving me a reason to keep playing, so that I could be a role model and inspiration to her. she is one of my biggest why’s in volleyball and life and i want her to be able to follow her dreams just like i did.

thank you to all the rest of my family for the constant support throughout my life in everything i do and for always cheering me on the loudest.

thank you to ALL of my teammates over the past fifteen years for the laughter, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime. these people are the ones that have made all the sacrifices worth it. 

thank you to all of my coaches for giving me endless opportunities to learn and grow, not only as a vb player but also as a person, and for pushing me to be the best i can be. 

and most importantly, thank you to this sport. thank you for changing my life in ways i never thought were possible. thank you for all the ups and downs that taught me lessons and shaped me into the person i am today.
