The reality of haze from forest fires may seem abstract to many. But to those in the front lines, it’s a frightening reality. 

Many of us endure urban fog from pollution, we complain about it and we are keenly aware of its detriment to our livelihoods. But here’s the difference: the haze in Porto Velho is the result of agribusiness practices running wild.

You would think, “How do they get away with it?!?!”. Well, they have a financial lifeline 👀 Even those farms that get fined, for deliberate fires, still receive $12.5M in rural credit according to our research. 🤯 Somedo doesn’t even get fined ❗
