Butterfly Pavilion hired Bayarmaa Duinkherjav, a PhD student at the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, to work with our team and lead comprehensive habitat and species research for the Parnassius apollo butterfly in Mongolia!
Bayarmaa states, “The Parnassius apollo butterfly is one of the most threatened butterflies in Europe. Over the past 25 years, its numbers have declined by 20-50%. By protecting the species itself, other species and habitats associated with it, are also protected.”
