SHINING BRIGHT: Homecoming Week concluded Friday afternoon with a pep rally in which the Student Council honored all nominees and announced the homecoming court before the varsity football against Connally.

Freshmen Silas Savitsky, who was named Baron, alongside Baroness Makenna Vasquez, said the experience was exciting but also nerve-racking.

“I was scared because I had to walk in front of a bunch of people,” Savitsky said.

Savitsky said he knew of his nomination but waited to ask people to vote for him. When he discovered he was royalty, Savitsky said he was pleased.

“I felt happy, but I was still pretty scared,” Savitsky said.

Along with Savitsky and Vasquez, a royal representative from each class, nominated by their classmates, was announced to the Homecoming court.

By seniority, these are the royal representatives from each class as announced:

Baron and Baroness: Savitsky and Vasquez
Duke and Dutchess: EZ Zachary and Maddy Martinez
Prince and Princess: Ronan Avery and Marveyah Muñoz Tavera

The senior class nominated kings and queens with each making an appearance at the pep rally.

The nominees for Homecoming king and queen were Sabina Garza with King Henry, Isley Cameron with Miles Baade and Trinity Ritcherson with Simon Beaton.

At halftime of the game, King Henry and Trinity Ritcherson were announced as the 2024-25 homecoming king and queen.

The seniors were announced as the winners of the spirit stick for the best hallway decoration, and the sophomores received the spirit stick after the Victory Chant competition.
