🇪🇹 Ethiopia’s mekasha_waganesh pulled away from one of the quickest women’s elite fields in towaterfront42k history to win in 2:20:44. That crushed the previous course record of 2:22:16, which was set in 2019 by Kenya’s Magdalyne Masai. 

Mekasha was able to vanish the ghosts from last year’s race, where she had finished second by just one second.
