Hurricane Helene in the NC Mountains.

Did you know the name Swannanoa means, “Beautiful River”? 

Two weeks ago, it became anything but….

The first photo is of Nurse Breanna sitting in a mound of insulin and other medications, organizing it by what can be sent along with other supplies to Swannanoa Nursing Homes that they have not been able to get ahold of because theres no power. She was crying in this photo re-telling the horrible stories she has witnessed through the last two weeks. 

This past week, I was able to go capture first hand the situation that has left the town of Swannanoa in despair. I was also able to capture the help and hope that people like Pastor samfine__ of Generation Church generationavl is giving to their community. They found themselves becoming not only a place to receive and give out groceries, but also medical supplies, hot meals, and a central rescue command center. 

People from all over are bringing their ATV’s, dirt bikes, and even Mules and dogs to help locate, rescue and recover. 

I watched people from all over the US load up horse trailers and flatbeds full of cases of water, and even a ministry brought in a food truck to cook hot meals to give to people who come every day from 12-2 and from 4-6 to get supplies. 

Generation Church is being the church. They are doing such an incredible job and they needs your help. They need volunteers to help give out supplies every day, to help box up hot meals, they need  money donations to help support the command center. There is a list posted on their Instagram account that shows the donations they need to help these people get through the winter cold. 

They need you.
