Congratulations to the student-athletes of the week! 📚

🏃 Nick Sloff led @pennstatetfxc through the finish line in Friday’s regular season finale. The redshirt freshman clocked a personal-best 23:22.2 8K mark in a 21st-overall finish at the Princeton Fall Classic. His time was the fifth-fastest by an underclassman in a race featuring top national talent. The State College local has impressed in his first in-uniform campaign for the Nittany Lions, finishing as a top-three runner on the men’s team in every race of the season so far as the team heads into postseason competition. Sloff has earned a Big Ten Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week award as well as a pair of conference Freshman of the Week awards so far in his excellent 2024 campaign.

🎾 Olivia Dorner partnered with Maiko Uchijima to win the doubles title at the ITA Northeast Regional last week. Dorner and Uchijima, ranked as the No. 49 doubles pair in the nation, went 6-0 in the tournament and became the first Nittany Lions to win a regional title, singles or doubles, since 2012. The duo qualified for the NCAA Individual Championships, the first time @pennstatewtennis has qualified since 2012. In doubles play, the duo defeated Penn’s Eileen Wang and Sabine Rutlauka (1-6, 6-4, 10-7) in the doubles final. Dorner added two singles wins to reach the Round of 16 and was named the @bigten Player of the Week. Dorner and Uchijima are 10-1 this Fall.
