🇦🇹 We walk out of our hotel in Dornbirn early enough that long shadows still follow us as we walk the two minutes to the train station and there’s a slight chill in the air as we wait for our train next to racks of bikes that remind me of Amsterdam. Bright sunshine greets us a few minutes down the tracks in Bregenz and the warmth of it makes the day feel more July than September. Yet we have the still empty shores of Lake Constance almost all to ourselves and the water allows the boats to reflect perfectly in the near mirror-still expanse of blue. We stroll the open expanse of lakefront - some of the best on the Lake as not every country that borders it, makes it all publicly accessible - and smile at a man dancing to the beat of a busker’s song with a fervor that suggests he’s just one in a crowd at a disco not a lone wolf. We watch the bubble man. Then we turn inland passing a famous “Milk Mushroom” after watching another train pass with commuters on their way to offices near and far before we make our way past shoppers at the market, each one walking away with bouquet in hand. For a lover? For their own table? The people of Bregenz seem passionate about fresh flowers and I ache to be one of them. Off to decorate my table in my historic apartment near the Old Town. Which we peruse, and pose in and enjoy to the max. Before making our way to the modern art museum for audio visual displays that make us think far deeper thoughts than the early hour has prepared us for but it works up our appetites for lunch back on the lake. All the while, the city wakes up around us. And I find myself wishing: I was here, to stay…. #PropelVorarlberg
