Hi! 👋 Thank you to so many of you for nominating me via # challengeaccepted Now that I have the attention provided by this moment, I want to ask, were you aware this may have started as a way to bring attention to violence against womxn in Turkey? I challenge you now, to head to auturkishculturalclub, #istanbulsözleşmesiyaşatır and #kadınaşiddetehayır so you can learn the story. If you can send money, please consider morcati_vakfi & small.projects.istanbul ❗️Also, this week marked the end of moratoriums across the USA that helped protect renters from evictions. While this will have wide ranging effects for all types of communities starting August 1, I learned via 19thnews that this will greatly effect Black women, who are already 3x more likely to be evicted. And it will disproportionally affect all women of color and victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. It would affect me, in fact, if my own partner wasn’t covering the rent for where we live. So like I mentioned pretty early on in this pandemic, while many have had the privilege of being able to stay home and stay safe, or work from home, there are women all over the world for whom this has been the worst season of their lives and that’s not taking into account the virus itself or the fact that this is not actually over. Particularly not for BIPOC, Indigenous and immigrant populations in the USA who are experiencing effects the rest of us aren’t - due to environmental, economic and systemic racism. But we’ve shown so many times already this year, that when we mobilize, we can change the world. So let’s do that together, starting with demanding Justice for Breonna Taylor, calling + writing our leaders about these issues, making sure we + all who we know are registered to vote via iamavoter or votesaveamerica. We can also support domesticworkers, decolonizemyself, defeatbytweet & protectourdefenders.com

If you’ve read this far, thank you for caring. ❤️ What resources would you add to those I’ve already mentioned?
