October 23, 1969, 9 brave sailors lost their lives and over 50 were injured serving their country 🇨🇦. The tragedy of the #HMCSKootenay was the worst peacetime accident in the history of the royalcannavy 

The ship’s motto, “We are as one” signifies the bond between the crew that continues among the survivors and their families to this day. Lest we forget.
