It took me a second to realize it wasn’t indeed a super fan of citiusmag, but the one and only mgcentro, 2016 Olympic 1500m Gold Medalist. 
The “CITIUS” on his shoulder reading “FASTER” in Latin.

💭Welp, this feels like a sign

Before I knew it, I had committed to joining keiradamato and mgcentro, as well as sainabetsy in the pursuit of 69:30.

The next few miles I oscillated between running right next to Keira and Betsy, to running a few seconds back. Keeping them in sight at all times, while also not forcing the pace.

I found myself beside Keira around 6 miles. She turned to me and said something I couldn’t clearly make out…

I heard: 👱🏻‍♀️🗯️Drop out
And: 👱🏻‍♀️🗯️Gels

I had mentioned to Keira on the bus ride over to the start that I was worried I didn’t tape my genucan Edge gels to my bottles properly and that I may be short on some. I told her I shoved a couple in my sports bra just in case.

💭Oh! She must need a genucan Edge!

I grabbed one from my top and went to hand it to her.

👱🏻‍♀️🗯️No, no. Do YOU need one?

💭Wait, whaaaat? Does she not need one? I thought she said she might drop out? I definitely don’t want to take any of hers if that’s the case.

🗯️Oh, no. I should be good! Thank you!

💭Omg this woman. A saint. Willing to give ME, a competitor HER fuel.

Again, I LOVE this sport 🥹
