Yesterday, @dante.vincent and I landed in Scotland. We always planned on vacationing here this year and we’re so excited to be doing that while also partnering with @visitscotland for some elements of our trip. After picking up the car they arranged for us in Edinburgh, we drove immediately to Rosslyn Chapel, founded in 1446 as the Collegiate Church of St Matthew. From the Visit Scotland website, “The chapel took some 40 years to build and its ornate stonework and mysterious symbolism have inspired - and intrigued – artists and visitors ever since. Today, there are countless theories, myths and legends associated with the Chapel, many of which are impossible to prove or disprove conclusively.” You might know Rosslyn Chapel from the book or movie series by Dan Brown or Knights Templar stories. It’s easy to see why so many myths exist about Rosslyn when you visit. No photos are allowed inside but I can tell you there certainly is something mysterious about the carvings that cover every surface telling Biblical stories, moral messages or celebrating nature. It somehow looks nothing like other churches and yet exactly as it should, since it is still a working church. The Chapel is in the village of Roslin, Midlothian and from there we will travel to Glasgow. My first time in the city even though I have been to Scotland many times, and I’m really looking forward to it! #ScotSpirit #LoveScotland #VisitScotland #RosslynChapel 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Oh and I’m so excited to be shooting on my brand new @sonyalpha a7R II for this trip that I purchased just before we left. After years & years of trying out seemingly every camera system on the planet, I’ve settled on this and the Fuji X-T2, that I recently borrowed from @fujifilmx_us, as my two favorite bodies. While I had to give the X-T2 back, I plan to purchase that in the future for assignments where I can travel lighter and a full frame isn’t a necessity. Happy to answer any questions you have about either! #sonyalpha #sonya7rii
