As someone who absolutely loves the state of California, I am so thrilled to be part of #CaliforniaWild with the ATTA @adventure.travel_ and @VisitCalifornia. The goal of this campaign -- which physically starts today as we drive away from our meeting spot in Sacramento -- is to help promote the fact that right outside California’s popular, large cities (the places I already know well!) are easily-accessible areas which are rugged, natural and unadulterated; places that are already ready for visitors but that not enough travelers ever experience. For me it’s a distinct honor to be spending the balance of this month challenging myself to discover and learn about these new parts of #California through the people, natural wonders, activities and history that make this state such a cool part of the USA. The four of us who are part of this epic adventure won’t just be following the beaten paths. We’re going off the path to find empty beaches, towering trees, deserts lit only by the full moon and who knows what else! We are looking for photogenic #landscapes that aren’t spoiled by man, flora and fauna that we have not seen elsewhere, climates we didn’t even know existed in this state PLUS culture and culinary delights that will help us refuel and re-engergize ourselves for more adventures! Many of the places we will visit are only a short, scenic drive away from metropolitan hubs. Plus, several regions can be combined to form longer trips.
