During our tour of luxury properties in Goa, @boubouteatime and I also visited @aliladiwagoa. Their spa, where I took this photo, is laid out around serene water features but the rooms look out at rows of palm trees and flooded rice fields where domestic oxen and snow white birds punctuate all the green. Alila Spa has a program I really want to return for!! It's a Detox that you can choose to do for 3, 5, 7, 14 or 30 days that's a combination of Western and Ayurvedic medicine plus daily yoga and a diet plan. The @alilahotels brand started in Indonesia so there's also a Balinese feel to some elements and the architecture of the property in general. A local village Grandma is the head chef of the kitchen in the Indian restaurant on site so the food is so authentic. There's an infinity pool that looks out at the rice fields, movie nights under the stars, plus a boutique hotel that has its own separate pool within the larger resort that's called The Diwa where every day at 4 PM they serve different styles of Chaat (Indian Street food) from a cart that's pretty similar to one you'd see on the streets. The Alila Diwa manages to somehow be both a luxury resort and also a place where you can connect with the culture of Goa in a way that's comfortable and easy. All in all it's so serene and I hope to one day return to be an overnight guest!! #escape2goa
