After a @royal.air.maroc flight to Casablanca and a drive to Marrakech I've arrived in a Moroccan dream come true at @lamamouniamarrakech. Almost 100 years old, it is set within the 12th century remparts surrounding the old medina of the city. This property from 1923 was recently restored over a period of 3 years and the craftsmanship is so extraordinary that some days there were 1,000 artisans at work at one time, completing the restoration of painted ceilings, mosaic tile work and carved stone. From the first glimpse, at this the entrance to the hotel, to the ceilings in my suite -- every surface is exquisitely crafted by hand. And so Moroccan. I truly cannot wait to explore in more detail and to share those details with you!! #LaMamouniaLife #lhwtraveler
